Minneapolis is home

I grew up in the Twin Cities and live in the Seward neighborhood with my husband and two young kids. I work in the transportation field and bring a perspective of environmental sustainability and equity to that work. My professional focus and personal passion is helping my neighbors make everyday changes to the way they get around for their health, the environment, and our community.

In my spare time I like to explore Minneapolis outdoors with my kids.  We love ice skating at Matthews Park, playing on the playground at Powderhorn Park, or walking the trails along the Mississippi River.

Four words that describe me

My daughter sums me up this way: biking, gardening, exercise, chatting. She’s on the mark! Whether at work or during my free time, I’m dedicated to improving sustainable transportation options, caring for the environment, building the health of our community, and connecting with others.

Creating Community through Parks and People

I believe in creating community with neighbors, cross-culturally, and across different ages. I speak Spanish fluently and believe that through language and listening we can deepen our understanding and build upon our common interests. When I see injustices, I am not afraid to speak up and lend my voice to pragmatic solutions.

I am a dedicated Minneapolis Public Schools and Rec Plus parent and believe that we must do more for working moms and families. I’m an active member of the Sierra Club North Star Chapter and their Land Use and Transportation Committee. I have a B.A. in Geography and International Development and a Master’s in GIS from Clark University.

I am fully committed to putting in the time, day in and day out, to serve District 3 as Commissioner for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board.
